Lentivirus production workshop 2023

    Lentivirus production workshop 2023

Lentiviral vectors are popular tools for delivering specific genes to target cells. Turku Bioscience Genome Editing Core is organizing a workshop to teach participants the know-how of this method. During this one-week-long workshop, participants will generate ready-to-use lentivirus-containing supernatant to deliver the GFP gene. In parallel, they will transduce 293FT cells using previously produced similar supernatant and gain experience in determining the infectious titer and lentivirus handling in general.

    Content:

Introduction to the virus laboratory, theory of 3rd generation lentivirus system

    Calcium phosphate transfection

    Lentivirus-containing supernatant harvest

Lentiviral transduction of 293FT cells using supernatant from transfected cells
