Six students and early-career postdocs are welcome to have a lunch and discuss with Prof. Wolfrum after the seminar. This is a great possibility to learn hosting skills in friendly environment and create connections for future. Every student are welcome to join, in spite of which research group they belong to. BioCity Turku will offer the lunch.

Professor Christian Wolfrum is the Head of the Laboratory of Translational Nutrition Biology at ETH Zürich. His research focuses on mechanisms regulating white and brown adipose tissue plasticity and function and the role of the adipose organ in the maintenance of metabolic control in obesity and type 2 diabetes. Obesity is a constantly increasing, health-threatening problem and even though it is commonly presented as a simple imbalance of energy intake and expenditure, the molecular defects in adipose tissue are still weakly recognized. Prof. Wolfrum is one of the pioneers shedding light to these unknowns and he is one of the best scientists to clarify the topic for the wide audience of obesity research these days.
