Johanna Ivaska has been selected to join Academia Europaea as an invited member

    Academia Europaea is a European, non-governmental association acting as an Academy which covers all disciplines and invites distinguished scientists to become members based on peer review.

    – It is a great honor to be appointed a member of this broad and multidisciplinary scientific community. Its important goals are to inform the general public about the benefits of knowledge and learning, and to shed light on how science affects both the quality of life and the standard of living in societies. These goals are also important values ​​for me and I want to be involved in promoting them, says Ivaska.

    Johanna Ivaska is a professor of Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Turku and one of the Group Leaders at Turku Bioscience Centre and in the InFLAMES flagship. She is also currently working as the K. Albin Johansson research professor at the Finnish Cancer Institute.
