In this seminar, Alexandru Mahmoud will present the open-source project Bioconductor. The talk will present the structure of the Bioconductor community and core team.
Also, it will introduce several ways through which community members can get involved, from becoming a package developer or maintainer, participating in working groups, or by contributing workshops to the Bioconductor workshop platform.
In addition, the session will feature a hands-on component demonstrating how workshop authors can contribute material, along with an overview of the automated pipeline that streamlines their propagation to the platform.
About the speaker
Research Software Engineer Alexandru Mahmoud is an active member of the Bioconductor Core team. Graduated from Vassar College, USA, with a double major in computer science and psychological science, Alexandru has experience in computational linguistics. During their time in Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Medical School, Alexandru worked in several other software projects in addition to Bioconductor, including Galaxy toolset, Bioc2u for Ubuntu, and enabling GPU computing for AnVIL cloud containers.
