Sony SH800S Cell Sorter

The benchtop SH800S cell sorter permits sorting of a wide range of cell sizes for many applications using the 70 μm, 100 μm, and 130 μm microfluidic sorting chips. This novel, chip‑based design integrates comprehensive fluidics controls and advanced automation for setup, acquisition, sorting, and analysis—making the workflow less subjective, more precise, and easier to perform.

The instrument has four laser lines and six free form PMTs. This makes it possible to detect six fluorescent colors + FSC and BSC (SSC) simultaneously. The use of co‑linear lasers provides flexibility in fluorochrome selection. The sorter is installed in a biosafety level 2 (BSL‑2) cabinet, allowing sorting of primary cells.

Lasers installed:

  1. Violet exciting at 405 nm
  2. Blue exciting at 488 nm
  3. Yellow green exciting at 561 nm
  4. Red exciting at 638 nm
