Getting Started

1. Contact us

If you have questions or would like to arrange a meeting to discuss your project, please contact TBCC at

2. Access

  • Cytometry Core instruments are reserved via Open IRIS.
  • Group admins and users must have Open IRIS accounts. How to create an account?
  • Users must be members of a group in Open IRIS
  • No individual users are granted access. Access is project-based.
  • The group admin has to submit a “TBCC cytometry project request” for flow or mass cytometry services. Invoicing information must be properly completed.
  • TBCC staff will process and activate the request.

3. Training

Training is mandatory before accessing the instruments. Protocols and user guides will be provided prior to training.

If you want a training at one of the cytometers you have to fill a TBCC cytometry training request in Open Iris (you find it under the services tab). This can only be done, if you have registered in Open iris as a member of a group.

The training on our instruments consists of 3 parts.

  1. A short discussion about your project and for what you need the instrument so we can tailor the training a little according to your needs (for example if you need compensations or not, which instrument is the best for your purpose etc.)
  2. A basic training at the instrument (we use beads so no samples have to be prepared beforehand)
  3. An assisted session at the instrument when you come the first time with your sample to the instrument.

4. Making reservations

In Open Iris in the Scheduler window, you will see the cytometry instruments you are authorized to reserve.

Instructions for making reservations.

5. User policy

When making your first reservation, you must read and accept the TBCC user policy. Please read it carefully before accepting.

6. Customer feedback

All feedback is valuable at any time.
