InFLAMES Visiting Professor Seminar by Mark Ansel
Time: 12.10.2026 at 11-12
Place: Arje Scheinin auditorium, Dentalia building
Mark Ansel, University of California San Francisco (UCSF), US: Cellular and molecular regulation of Th2 inflammation in the airways and other barrier tissues
Coffee is served at 10.30
Host: Riitta Lahesmaa ( rilahes @ utu.fi )
Professor Mark Ansel‘s research group at the University of California, San Francisco, studies the molecular regulation of immune responses that underlie the pathology of inflammatory diseases, with a focus on T cell programming and cytokine genes. They conduct fundamental research on RNA regulation of the immune system. In addition, they collaborate closely with physician scientists, technologists and data scientists to conduct mechanism-oriented human immunology research. Mark Ansel is a co-founder and current Chair of the UCSF Bakar ImmunoX Initiative and an active affiliate of the Sandler Asthma Basic Research Center, the Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology and the UCSF Diabetes Center. ImmunoX and its UCSF Co-Labs provide access to technology platforms and domain experts using a novel collaborative structure and funding model that connects teams of scientists with clinical, biological, technological and computational expertise to maximize the impact of their research program in human immunology.
